Sus pesquisas le llevan a interesarse por el profeta rural Jesús de Nazaret, crucificado meses atrás en Jerusalén, y por las claves de su influjo religioso y político en la sociedad judía. Sus discípulos, seguidores y amigos son investigados y descritos por este tribuno.
