Estas meditaciones y ejercicios pretenden ofrecer las vivencias más profundas de la experiencia cristiana y ministerial compartidas por el autor con tantos hermanos presbíteros en la Iglesia. La permanente renovación del corazón en los jóvenes presbíteros es preocupación y tarea fundamental para el crecimiento de las comunidades cristianas desde el seguimiento a Jesús y desde el servicio a la comunión y la misión eclesiales en el Espíritu. Es solicitud prioritaria de los obispos y presbiterios en todas las Iglesias locales. Hay una necesidad de avivar el fuego de Dios recibido en la imposición de las manos (cf. 2 Tim 1,6), para poder vivir y servir en fidelidad y en dignidad a los hermanos, "no a la fuerza, sino de buena gana, como Dios quiere; no por sórdida ganancia, sino con generosidad; no como déspotas sobre la heredad de Dios, sino convirtiéndonos en modelos de los hermanos" (1 Pe 5,2-4).
