El alma de México
Descripción del libro

This is an ambitious work that entwines the art, the history, and the culture of Mexico through the centuries. This is a work in which the different texts—written by important specialists—find their compliment in a series of images of enormous esthetic value. After the prologue by Carlos Fuentes, the book is divided into four major sections: Pre-Hispanic Mexico, colonial Mexico, independent Mexico, and contemporary Mexico. Each section includes three chapters dedicated to specific themes. The book is structured in the same manner as the television series The Soul of Mexico (November 2000), comprised of twelve one-hour programs. On each page there is testimony to the vitality, the intelligence, and the artistic sensibility that the cultural legacy of the Mexican people have created, that has strengthened the national identity, and encourages the efforts of future generations.
