Escultura en Bogotá

Descripción del libro

Libro Escultura en Bogotá

This catalogue is a tribute, from various points of view, to the set of sculptural pieces in Bogotá, through the selection of a hundred works by restorer and historian Paula Matiz. Her novel proposal moves away from a chronological account to go into the presentation of the works from six themes that cover: the territory, as a geographical, mythological and natural reference; convergences, as situations of meeting of dynamics and cultures since the 17th century; the commemorations, in close affiliation with the independence processes; the purposes, like those ideas of construction of a Republic; the divergences, in as much the tensions violence / peace, product of the political conflict; and explorations, such as the search for new languages in art.
