Tanto en el aula como en las paginas del periodico, Jose Alvarado dedico su vida a la ensenanza, y su vida misma es una leccion de agudeza, de sensibilidad, de generosidad. Testimonio de ello son estas paginas, en donde lo anecdotico se vuelve trascendente; este magnifico prosista fue tambien, un hombre de hondas convicciones politicas y sociales.

A series of narratives based on the history of a hacienda in San Gertrudis, Chihuahua during the Mexican revolution, with focus on the incursion of rebel troops and the reaction of rural residents. The author (1944) is a native of San Gertrudis.

Authors study four different regional revolts between 1923-24, all with different leaders and provoked by different causes: Rómulo Figueroa in Guerrero, Enrique Estrada in Jalisco, Guadalupe Sánchez in Veracruz, and Fortunato Maycotte in Oaxaca. Rebels failed because of a lack of central control or unifying program. This anthological edition is a well-deserved tribute on the life work of Bostelmann (b. Mexico), one of Mexico's most noted late 20th century photographers. This photographic retrospective presents his striking b/w photographs of desolated and rainy places, nude figures, the town of Cuetzalan, political meetings, children and his ironic color series (CrÑnica de familia, la vida en breve, gallo). Bostelmann was against what he called the "current use and abuse of digital elements" to enhance photography.
