Anthological exhibition of Cuban photography, fifty artists and one hundred images allow an extensive tour of the development of photography in Cuba since its arrival on the island in 1840 to the present. With this exhibition, curated by the specialist Rafael Acosta de Arriba, the exhibition of Cuban photography returns to the Museum's halls. These modern and unconventional photographs portray an Italy that is very different from the one most people are accustomed to seeing on postcards. In this book, Italy and its heritage of nature, history, culture and humanity are presented from a unique vantage point — the sky — with pictures taken by two of today's most respected specialized photographers.

This book is published to celebrate the awarding of the 2009 International Prize for Photography Citoler Pilar to Juan del Junco (born 1972). Since 2000, del Junco has explored a kind of comedic staged photography in which (for example) a young woman paints her plants the same blue as her dyed hair, or dogs look on while a couple make love.
